These are better than broken grips, though, on a War Time P38. Most of the Wartime production pistols had horizontal serrations in their grips instead of checkering like these have. They are period correct for Post War Walthers. These grips are for Walther P1 and P38 model pistols only. We have a few screws available at $9.00 per with grip purchase. Each grip includes its blue steel screw escutcheon embedded in the right panel, but screw is not included. Note that the left panels have raised ridges for a right hand shooter’s thumb, but not raised enough to render them uncomfortable for a southpaw. Construction is gloss finish black polymer with checkered surfaces on the panel sides and on the back strap area. Manufacturer is Carl Walther of Ulm, Germany. We have included several photos for our shoppers to check our grading, and buyers will receive grips from this same lot. We rate them all as Very Good, close to Excellent Condition. Surface detractions are only moderate, principally small amounts of scouring on the butt edges and upper area of the right panel. These grips are in much better condition than your average run of police pistol grips. German Police Pistols are among the best maintained in the world. Many of the pistols we got had new grips, so these are they ones they replaced. Parent pistol dates, almost always stamped on the slides, ranged from 1957 up until the early 1980s. We had a couple hundred of the pistols, and wish we had some more. Here are surplus grips from the West German Federal Police, the Bundespolizei, that came through with a moderate shipment of P1 and P38 pistols from that distinguished agency in 2011. These fine pistols earned their place in military and police, and then in civilian circles during the War. German Made Walther P-38 and P-1 pistols entered the US Market during and after World War II, in increasing numbers up until the past couple of years. Buyers, however, may take any number of extra sets we have on hand at the same per-set price and with no additional shipping charges.
